We gave this place three chances. The first time we went, we had breakfast and we had nothing but good stuff to say about the place. We went back, hoping for the same thing, but instead we got there and the waitress was a confused older lady. Now, we are very patient but we sat down and watched everyone who got there after us in the takeout line get served before us. The confused lady told us she couldn't take the order because she didn't have "the pad" and the other guy had it....instead of taking our orders she looked at him without saying a thing. So I asked for a smoothie so I could wait with something...we had no water yet either. Ten minutes after, no smoothie. We walked out and couldn't believe we had just spent around 30 minutes waiting and they never took our order. Second strike, I went there with family...they asked us twice what we had ordered because they were confused, then apologized saying that they didn't have their chef. 3 people had ordered hot dogs...and when they got them they were cold, with hard sausages. My food was good, luckily for me. But the other people's food was gross and I never would have ate it. Third strike, I went there just to pick up 2 smoothies. Took at least 20 minutes. Way too long when there's only 3 people in front of you. Overall they could have a great little bistro, but the staff is slow, extremely confused, and doesn't look happy. Posted by: Esther at August 6, 2008 06:18 PMThis place is amazing! It's one of the places we look forward to visiting every year. Last year, we had some amazing Lobster Maccaroni & Cheese. We hope Deb will be serving it again this year ... FYI - the link to the Bistro above is NOT correct. I was very disappointed to find that out. We have eaten here a couple of times and have been very pleased. People and food are great and they were wonderful to our small children. Attentive without being intrusive. It just keeps getting better even when you thought it couldn't! Recent dinner menu specials which were absolutely outstanding included buffalo steak, white sauced lasagna with black truffles, ostrich with blueberry wine sauce, to name a few. There's also usually a mid-week "family" offering of a couple of entres which are very reasonable and appealing to adults and kids alike. The dessert specials are also awesome. The service continues to be very attentive, friendly, and welcoming. And as of THIS WEEKEND, THEY'LL BE SERVING LIQOUR! The license just came through today. Congrats, Debbie! Serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and daytime concession foods for the beach (which are very reasonable, family friendly, and excellent). The dinner menu is a nice variety and extremely creative with enormous attention to every detail. Excellent quality food, very fresh and nicely presented, and so creative yet not pretentious. The chowder is exceptional and the lobster bisque is possibly the best we're ever tasted (intense lobster taste, generous on the meat, and not overpowered by sherry). The pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto, the chicken picatta, and the lamb with pomegranite sauce are all outstanding. Specials are great, too, (the grilled duck breast with wine rosemary sauce was a winner.) Don't miss the desserts (although the dinner portions are generous and you might need to save rooom!) The pecan pie is to kill for as is the Bananas Foster for two which knocked us out. A friendly place with warm welcome and good service. Since it's small, I'd make reservations for dinner Posted by: Evelyn at July 19, 2006 12:14 PMPost a review! (Read Posting Guidelines.) The name field is a required field (real name or screen name).
