AWFUL FOOD-YUK!!.LET THIS VENERABLE INSTITUTION JUST DIE.All of these new owners, managers etc. have done nothing to keep the reputation OR the FOOD intact.I made the mistake of trying it again.Once bitten, twice shy.AWFUL-AWFUL.

I whent to this resturant today with my girlfriends, and i have no idea what the last few posters where talking about. My meal was ready in about 10 minuts and the staff was eccelent along with the food. Also as for the tuna tatakie i thought it was outstanding as fresh and tastefull as "susi" grade fish can get. Maby they changed Chefs recently.

Worst meal of my life. My son's chicken was raw in the middle, no apology at all. We saw they had lobster rolls only to find out when we sat down and they were out. We order pork sandwiches, they were so grizzly we couldnt eat them. The french fries were overcooked and cold. Terrible experience. The only thing that was nice was the view.

We decided to give this ONCE fine establishment a try....NEVER AGAIN.... It was a total joke their were FIVE items on the menu and they were out of two...once we recived our steaks they were under cooked, and we could not even choose our own side dishes...The waitress was under trained and the bus boys ran around crazy not knowing which way to go first. When you walk in you can see the filthy kitchen... lets just say the new manager has yet to help this once fine place...

Well, I don't think anything is going to change there anytime soon... I happened to stroll by just a few days ago and the doors were open, however the restaurant is not. It seems like the owners hired a new manager from New York for the season, but the fact that they have not opened yet...??? It looks nice and redecorated inside, but I happened to look into the kitchen and it looks like a dump... I think they really need to get their act together and update it.

Re:Blacksmith Shop
Try 65 Main/Dogbar...they only charge for the menu...no hidden fees unless it's linens or what not. nice outdoor patio. seats up to 60 people.
you really got a bum deal.

My family made a special trip to Rockport (from Chicago and Seattle) to find a location for my son's rehearsal dinner. We made specific plans with the manager. But he left for the season before a contract was signed. The owners took over the negotiating. Now after 6 months, we have NOTHING! They more than doubled the price of everything and tacked on a $1600 room charge that didn't exist in the beginning. That doesn't even cover the cost of the trip we made to find their restaurant!!! They have been impossible and irresponsible to deal with. I can't imagine how they keep any customers.

How can such a fine astablishment have slipped so far beyond help????? I have never been treated so bad by a so called general manager in my life he was the most rudest under qualified "manager" I have ever met. Food was horrid took way to longer, over priced and tiny portions finished off a bad evening at a once wonderful establishment..... The only part that was pleasant was our waitress (assistant general manager Ifelt bad for her) she made a bad time manageable....

Without a doubt, one of the most overpriced, poorly managed restaurants I've been to in quite some time. Our party of five had three meals brought to the table along with a fourth which was the wrong order. The waiter had to ask what the other two meals were, and after a long delay, they showed up, with the side dish being incorrect on one of the meals. The waiter, who was also the manager, was rude and insincere, particularly in dealing with one member of our party who has food allergies and had a few questions about ingredients in the menu choices. Food was mediocre at best, and in the case of the Ahi Tuna, dangerously undercooked to the point of being raw (and no, it wasn't even close to sushi grade). The Seafood Casserole was small, bland and overpriced at $29.95. The before meal bread basket was plain white bread supermarket dinner rolls served with only butter pats, and seemed like an afterthought. The small details one expects to see during the course of a meal at a fine dining establishment were lacking. They're trying to make themselves into a top tier restaurant, but have neither the staff nor the chef to make that happen. It's truly a shame that this once decent restaurant (I've dined here numerous times in the past) has slipped so badly. Avoid this establishment until it comes under new management, which given last evening's experience, shouldn't take too long.

I use to work their. I was treated like a slave working 11 hour days with out no brakes. They leave food open so the flys get on it. I never worked for such an asshole in my life. They also tried to stiff me with my pay. since when does 17 year olds work 11 hour days and 5 days a week with no brakes? (SummerJob)
:(
