Reviews!

Went again last Saturday night, kind of late, but had a blast, the one man band "Mike" O'Connel I think, was fantastic. The place was not full, but busy, yet I was able to get quick drink, some laughs and order from the Kitchen. Baked fresh Haddock to die for. Very reasonably priced.

My friends and I had an outstanding experience at Elliott's. The relaxing unrushed atmosphere was perfect after a hectic week. We shared stuffed chicken wings and a scallop appetizer. They were unique and delicious. I loved the steak kabob and the baked sweet potatoe had wonderful flavor. My friends both raved about their dishes as well. We ended up staying later then expected due to the music playing in the bar.Without question, we'll be back.

ONE OF THE WORST REST IN GLOUCESTER, BAKED HADDOK WAS GROSS AND NOT COOKED ENOUGH AND THE VEGGIES ON MY PLATE WERE NOT EVEN COOKED, SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE AND DRINKS WERE PROBABLY THE ONLY GOOD THING JUST TAKES FOREVER TO GET AN ORDER IN EVEN ON A SLOW NIGHT. NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN THE FOOD WAS SO BAD WE COMPLAINED AND WE DIDNT GET CHARGED FOR THE MEALS, ONLY PAYED FOR THE DRINKS, DONT RECORMEND IT TO ANYONE. ITS OVERPRICED AND DEFF NOT UPSCALE I GET A BETTER MEAL AT BURGER KING.

Have had the pleasure of dining at Elliott's twice now. Both times were fantastic, good drinks, great food, I liked the atmosphere better the second vist (less lights). The fire place was roaring (very cool). The servers were attentive, and the live music perfect for the size and setting. Highly recommended. Enjoy, I did.

I really wanted to like Elliot's, but I didn't. The atmosphere is very cold and uninviting. The blonde wood, and the spacing of the tables was off putting. The food was mediocre. My caesar salad was heavy on the dressing, which was not such a good thing. My companion's wedge salad was mad with ranch dressing. Yuck. Entrees were disappointing. The bread was cold. I always give a restaurant two visits before making a judgment. Not sure when the next visit will be. It could have been a n off night. Service was good.
One thought...scale down the ambitious menu. It is nice to have something for everyone, but won;t do much good when nobody shows up from bad reviews.

Well perhaps it was an "off" night as I did not have a good experience at Elliott's. Menu was typical and boring. Green walls cold and uninviting. Apps(crab cakes) were good, though not too crabby. Salad was good too. Service was effecient and friendly. Entree's were really quite bad...Halibut was dried out and overcooked...almost needed a steak knife to cut it. Shrimp scampi was inedible, soggy homemade pasta dressed with imitation lemon...this dish was sent back to the kitchen and the second attempt was not any better. I wanted to like a new restaurant, but the chefs here must be very inexperienced. Very disappointing.

I keep hearing rumors about this place being pricy, Wrong. Cheapest restuarant Beer in town, unmeasured pours for mixed drinks. As for the menu, it is stacked with traditionaly home cooked options, with a touch of flare with varied dinner prices from 9 bucks to yes, 28 but that is your choice. Portions are excellent, so well worth your dollar, you do not go away hungry. I find the place both calming, and exciting, and well worth it.

Still going, and still loving this place, and last night the Fire Place was back. Real wood, real live fire place, it was wonderful to sit and watch the flames, feel the warmth while enjoying a superb NY Sirloin cooked to perfection. Thank You Elliott's keep it up.

The place is reborn, what these folks have done is fantastic. Elliotts is the new place to go in town. Have eaten here multiple times now, and have found nothing but the best of food and atmosphere, oh and yes the beer is cold and the single malts varied. Worth a visit, for sure. I understand they are now open for lunch as well, cool. Will have to try it.

I was anxiously awaiting the opening of "up-scale" Elliot's, even though I miss the Blackburn - Gloucester's only real pub with edible, reasonably-priced food. I went twice for a drink before I got up the courage to order a meal. The atmosphere is a bit un-
comfortable and there is something unfinished about the menu - perhaps an identity crisis - I was afraid to be disappointed. Not being very hungry, I ordered the stuffed mushroom to start. The chef cooked it a bit too quickly, so although the cheese was melted, the ingredients (veggies and cheese) weren't really fused. I did not like the chef's choice of spice for this dish - I believe it was thyme - because it was overpowering. Next was the swordfish kabob, which came on a lovely bed of sauteed spinach. The kabobs had absolutely no flavour whatsoever, with chunks of onion, whole mushrooms and tomatos. The buffelo burger with blue cheese was mediocre, meaning a bit tough and small in size. The dish had an oversized condiment bowl of tomato catsup (would you put that on blue cheese?) a cheap, limp pickle and a surprisingly tasty coleslaw. We asked for mustard and were served French's yellow to accompany the fancy burger. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I wanted to speak to the manager because I think that Elliot's could be a gem of Main Street, but she was busy training two young lads. There were only two other tables dining, and one of them was at the bar complaining about the wait time for food. So, I thought I'd post the review here and hope that someone reads it. I honestly want Elliot's to suceed. I spent a lot of time and money at the Blackburn and the location is perfect for meetings, a quick bite or a fun night out. But, unless they get their brand together - I don't think that they'll make it. The menu needs work and they absolutely should know that "nice" restaurants are all about the fine details, e.g. pickles and mustard. Please get it together, Elliot's! We need you! Either realize your potential as a fine dining establishment or recapture the Blackburn pub audience, with a better menu, meaning you'll have to serve fries with lunch and lower the price of those fries from $8 to $4. OK, maybe $6. but they'd better be fantastic!

Been there twice and both times the food was excellent and the service perfect. I like the atmosphere...elegant for Gloucester..it has some class! My only complaint was that the chicken piccata was so good I ate too much!
