Reviews!

We had a fabulous meal tonight! We started with the crabcake appetizer, which was very good and not loaded with lots of other flavors - just good crab taste and the luscious lemon aioli...mmmm.

We had the bacon wrapped filet mignon and the top sirloin with shrimp. The filet was large and absolutely succulent..so, so tender. The honey bourbon glaze added nice flavor to the meat. The top sirloin was also very good, tender and cooked perfectly. The three accompanying shrimp were plump and juicy..all in all an excellent dish. Both meals came with mildly garlicky mashed potatoes and (the only downside of the evening) lackluster vegetables. The blistered asparagus was overdone and the portion skimpy, the mixed vegetables were mushy and, again, the portion was skimpy. We finished with a truly decadent chocolate mousse in a dark chocolate cup...yum! Prices were reasonable, $26 for the bacon wrapped filet, $11 for the crab cakes, and an astonishing #16 for the sirloin and shrimp That particular meal was the best deal ever!!

Both the chef, Brian, and the owner, Ken, came over to speak with us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. That was a very nice touch.

If they can get more creative with their vegetables, that would be very good. Other than that, it was truly a delicious experience.

I had the Vermont scallops, and I highly recommend them. Dining room was warm and inviting. New chef is great!

The Manor Inn is truly a hidden jewel. I didn't even know it was there, until we got off the highway instead of going through construction over the bridge. I went in for dinner with my son and it was delicious. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. I don't know what was in the butter spread, but it was delicious and really complemented the rolls nicely, they were still warm when they came out. I had the haddock and my son had the scallops. Both were fabulous! We ate everything. I only wish we had room for dessert, because they all sounded delicious. I hope the kids take me there for the mother's day brunch. The deck wasn't open yet when we went, but we will definitely be back.

A bunch of us went to the Manor last night. They just opened with a newly priced menu. There were a lot of us, and we made alot of noise, until the food came out. Everyone was too busy enjoying there meal to speak when that happened. I had the sirloin with shrimp, and it melted in my mouth and it was only $16. Fabulous food for a fabulous price. The rolls with the special butter spread were delicious, not sure what was added to the butter but it was yummy. The Portugese steak bombs...omg delicious. Everyone was impressed with their meal. One of my friends got the haddock special and was amazed at how good it was. The wait staff was very attentive and made sure we all had what we needed. We will definitely be back. Can't wait until it's warm enought to sit on the deck.

The steaks are AMAZING, but everything else is terrible! The service is the worst I've ever experienced. It seems as if it is everone's 1st night at this place. The table of 6 across from us were complaining because they didn't get anybody's order correct...not the desired cook time, or even the cuts of meat! When you order a bottle of wine it comes out uncorked, is not presented, & they don't know how to pour a "taste" to assure that it is OK. If you charge $40 for a $10 bottle of wine, you need to know how to serve it! & they store their red wine in a 40 degree area. Who wants chilled red wine? The steaks are great, but I cannot get past the crappy service. It ruins the dinner. Hopefully they will step it up for next year.

I just found the Manor after living here all my life and I'm glad I did.The steak is the best I've ever had.The staff was friendly and prompt and the building is charming. The large BULL is what caught my attention. This place is really unique and worth a try.

Great gigs, Laurie! The food was good, the beer was cold, and the music didn't disappoint after all these years. The mosquitoes got a little fierce towards the end last week, but last night was a perfect evening. Hope to see you guys around more often.

I discovered The Deck at the Manor last Friday night.
I had the ribs from the pub menu and they were the best I have ever had.I can't say enough about the deck and views overlooking the river while listening to the band.I didn't eat at the Steakhouse but did tour the dining rooms and was impressed. The Manor is a true hidden treasure. I'm going back Thursday night to see the band The Hot Club of Coral Bay.I highly recommend Manor.

Not good at all. Prices are high. $140 plus tip for a small party of 4.Food was only so so. I guess the steak was fair. Plaster cow really should go.

We tried the Manor on friends' recommendations and were not disappointed! A few dollars more than the Franklin, one of our favorites - it was well worth it for quality, portions and ambience. We dine out often and have added the Manor to our list of restaurants to visit regularly.

So many reviews here have negative comments about the service in local restaurants and this is an area where the Manor truly shines. We were acknowledged immediately and received attentive but not overbearing service in a warm friendly atmosphere.

Well its not worth going back thats for sure. Steak was only ok. Expensive weak drinks. Spent lotsa $$ for little return. No stars.

Gloucester is lucky to have some extraordinary restaurants, Duckworth's Bistrot, Lobstaland, Passports, and the Rudder among them. But The Manor Inn (Steakhouse) has raised the bar again, with some of the best food I've ever tasted and a wine list without a klunker. While it's true that a steak (its beef is all organic) may cost $34, it is also true that you can buy a steak for $21 (a matchless petit filet mignon), and many entrees cost in the teens (the best chicken I've ever eaten was $16). Some entrees include veggies, but even when one pays for a vegetable (e.g. the garlicky spinach), it's enough for two to split and worthy of a separate price. In fact, most everything is large enough to be splittable. This is a world class restaurant.

The menu is really confusing to me. If I pay $35 for a steak, I have to pay an extra $4 for mashed potato?

I'm pleased that Gloucester has gained a true fine dining steak house with the same quality or better than the high end steak houses in Boston. My experience was excellent.I highly recommend The Manor Steakhouse it may cost a little more than the average Gloucester restaurant but the quality and the atmosphere the is well worth the price. My hat is off to both the chef and the owner for creating a quality steakhouse at a good value.

We were lucky enough to enjoy the first night the Mannor opened. It was delightful and the food was delicious. The wait staff was a bit nervous (to be expected) but more than helpful. The wine list was great, the steaks were fabulous and the martini was yummy. I did suggest that they might want to put together a "martini list" for those of us who like to try "fun" ones rather than the serious drink! A definitely positive experience - we are planning on returning soon!

It would be great if a real customer would review this place. These reviews are obviously from ownership since they are gloating about info that only insiders would know about. I have not personally been but I hear it is extremely expensive. Anyone try it yet??

Right from the lovely greeting at the door the experience was memorable. Wonderful service, fantastic wine selection and a menu with something for everyone.
Everything looked so great on the menu it was difficult to choose. The seared tuna was cooked perfectly and the presentation with vegetables and soba noodles was a work of art. The premium organic beef had a fantastic flavor and melted in your mouth. Don't miss this one.

The decor was warm and inviting. The crackling fire was a delightful addition. This is definitely a place to relax and enjoy a romantic dinner. Also a place to indulge and take a break from the fast pace of life.

The food was superb. The Filet was cooked to perfection and cut like buttah. The Porcini Ravioli was tasty and delicious.

The service was friendly and attentive. Overall we had a wonderful dinner and the Manor
Inn is a fantastic addition to the Gloucester dining scene.

A stellar performance by the chef at the newly opened fine dining restaurant The Manor Steakhouse in Gloucester! It has a charming and gracious ambience. Great steakhouse/creative American cuisine. A "must try" before the season gets underway and there are NO tables available!
Highlights: superbly presented and scrumptiously tasting-rare seared yellowfin tuna, a "melt in your mouth" filet mignon, chocolate decandence for dessert, meant to end the meal; leaves you satiated, but wishing for more.
The owners attention to vintage decor extends to this latest found treasure......a chef whose career is also an artistic calling
We found their full menu listed on The Manor Inn's website- lots more to choose from-
