We hired classic cooks for a wedding of 90 people. Four stars for the food. Great appetizers and amazing dessert. However, their organization was terrible. Some food we ordered didn't arrive. The tables were not set up as we were told, which made a panic 15 minutes before the ceremony. I would hire them again for a small party or with a wedding coordinator !

Classic Cooks Cafe,
Food is great and Julie, her mother and family are great to be around. It is always entertaining and they will help you with whatever you need. The food is as good as most lunch places and the catering is always terrific.
The FOOD if you wanna call it that is TERRIBLE. The veggies are never cooked enough. I dont want hard veggies I want veggies I can chew on. I like to chew stuff not swallow it. Especially hard veggies like carrots and cucumbers and sausauges. The old woman is RUDE and bumps into me whne she gos the bathroom. She is wicked wierd. REALLY weirdo. The main lady callt me a name. She ALWAsYS lies and gets my orderw erong. I work downt he street with the fish and need FOOD done RIGHT. Can ANYONE recommend a better plae for me??? Pls. Kthxbye.
The food here is mostly good, though I wish that they would not serve a sandwich special and a meal special both with red meat on the same day LOL. But, Diane is usually cheery and I've never had a problem being satisfied quickly if something went wrong. I'm a caregiver, with little time, so when I forget to bring lunch (often, unfortunately), I'm glad these guys are here in the park.

I wish the food and service was more consistent because it is often very good and most of the staff are a joy. I have ordered items for a party that were fantastic. I frequently pick up lunch. Sometimes, however, it is frustrating due to a lack of attention to the food orders or the customers. The food seems to especially go wrong when the youngest girl with the straight blonde hair is making/preparing it. I ordered a cheeseburger with mushrooms - when I unwrapped it I found raw mushrooms thrown on top. I ordered an italian sub - received it without any cheese on it. I'm sure she is nice, but I think she is just too immature and unfocused or untrained to handle food orders. I also feel bad for the lady, Diane, who usually takes orders. I have frequently seen no one assist her or other customers when she is busy. Ex. while she is cooking a breakfast item at least 2 other employees notice another customer and yet not one of them acknowledged the customer or alerted Diane that another customer was waiting for over 5 minutes. It just seems rude.
Julie catered our daughter's wedding in mid-November,2007. It was truly beautifully done.
She helped us pick out linens, suggested alternatives to candles, which weren't allowed at the venue, and her assistance from the get-go, was so good that we all felt totally relieved of worries and responsibilities.
We had a multi-station buffet,for 120, and she arranged a delicious meal, --including her divine squash ravioli, and great roast beef.
The appetizers were plentiful, the wait staff excellent, the bar tender very experienced,and it all went smoothly. A truly wonderful occasion thanks to Julie!
They deserve more stars for their quality of food - it is excellent. I gave three based on the quality of their business and service aspects. They catered my wedding recently, the timing was off and the wait staff was very disorganized. We had to add an hour to make up for their mistake.
Julie is enthusiastic and as I said the food is great. But if you use this company just be very specific about what you expect and go over every detail together with exceptional care.
Classic Cooks catered my rehearsal dinner & my wedding in Oct 06. I can not say enough great things about Julie, her mother & her staff! They were awesome! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I work at The Blackburn Center and have take out lunch at Classic Cooks several times a week , the food is always great , the prices are reasonable and the portions are more than enough(I usually get soup and sandwich and have enough left over for dinner).They always have a special hot meals and delicious soups. Everything is homemade including the best cookies you have ever tasted.
Portions small. Prices are too high. The woman who works the register- you never know what her mood is going to be. Once I ordered a greek salad wrap and there must have been 1/2 cup of jalapenos in there. If you don't want my business- just tell me, don't play games. If the place weren't so close to where I work and fast, I wouldn't have gone back but I do. They had some interesting soup with apples & curry which was good. Another time butternut squash ravioli in a sage cream sauce. Yum. In general, entres and soup, good. Sandwiches disapointingly small and expensive.

They started with appetizers then continued with three diffrent station everyone at the wedding loves it and nobody went away hungry.
Tasty food but scimpy portions/steep prices. Guests went hungry. Caterer did not listen to our wants and needs. Food not delivered as promised. Caterer not present at event.
this place is up blackburn center and it has the best food and service anyplace on cape ann has they are soooooo nice and pleasant they'll do anything that u ask them to do. they also cater
