Anonymous, could you be a former employee who didn't show up for work one too many times??? Your post sounds particularly "harsh".Marias is one of the best places in town.Pizza is awesome (do you know the difference between mozzarella and cheddar?!,seafood is always cooked to perfection, and the place always seems clean to me.Constuctive criticism is one thing, bashing is another.

are u people ok? First of all, delaneys has the best pizza in town. as a matter of fact, the owner of delaneys is the person who showed the two hacks who own it now how to make pizza. they have bastardized the recipe for the sauce and do not even use mozzerela they use cheddar. IDIOTS!!! secondly the cleanliness in and around that place is disgusting. On my last visit there I was greeted near the front door by a rat that was the size of a healthy cat. The service there sucks and oh yeah by the way if they could find someone to fry clams and other seafood it would be a small miracle. This place is a complete crapstorm from day 1.

The best pizza in Gloucester. I know the owners and they treat the guests like family. I've been going there since I was born basically. Keep up the good work.

This place is AWESOME. The best baked haddos=ck anywhere! Better still...no bloody tourists. Hope it stays that way! Love it.

Excellent food, but don't ever piss off the mum of this shop! She will bite your head off! And if she tells you that your food will be done in 15 minutes and that is when you can pick it up!!! Better not arrive early or late. You will hear about it either way!!! And no extra rolls unless you pay for them!!! But as I said really fantastic food, just a crabby mum with really bad customer service.

Service is great! Food is fantastic and the serving sizes are unbelievable! It's two meals for the price of one. DO NOT miss Maria's it's worth the trip!

I didn't quite believe how good these reviews were, but after having been there and back several times, they're completely true. Best pizza I've ever had, and that's not praise I'd give away easily: compares favorably (i.e., better)to the best in the North End or NYC. Also, as someone who's lived in New Orleans, be on the lookout for the Creole Sautee on their specials: zita base, spicy sauce, shrimp, scallops, chicken and andouille sausage; you might be lucky to find as good for twice the price at the best restaurants in the Big Easy. This place blows my mind.

Best pizza around. Has been for years...

Best thin pizza around. Great food good selection and not just Italian. Hard working staff, improvments to the inside are wounderful and my hat comes off to the work that the family has done to make Maria's a great place to sit, relax and eat a great meal. Thanks Cory and Chris

You don't have to go to Boston for a great Italian meal. The sauces are bold, the vegetables used are fresh, the pizza is a
"I don't want to share" kinda pizza, and the pasta is done al dente.
The staff and family that own this homey restaurant take very good care of their customers!

The best pizza in town. Food is outstanding. Variety is great. Quantity is more than ample. I take my friends there from out of town and they are always impressed. Never have had a bad meal and it's very clean with the new renovations.
