Reviews!

When she proudly said the cannoli's were imported, frozen, from Italy, I knew why they tasted so bad. Sorry, make your own. Make the shells and the filling!!!

As an Italian I am embarrassed by this place, too expensive and poor quality. The cookies are like an assortment of butter cookies and sugar cookies. What happened to Italian Cookies. I wasted my money, last time I go to this place. Cafe Sicilia has the ammaretti cookies, which are un comparable to anything this place has. I hate to sound harsh but I was extremly dissapointed with the amount of money I paid for Cookies I can get at DeMoulas for about 5 bucks for a 2 pound container. NEVER AGAIN.

The guy at Cafe Sicilia buys his pastries from 7-Eleven. He is the Bread Nazi.

I just came back from Caffe Dolce where I had a delicious slice of ricotta pie and a decaf espresso and it was just as good as I experienced in Sicily.

This place is wonderful! My wife and I visit every time we are in town. It's no secret that all those poor reviews are from Cafe Sicilia! Nice try.

JOKE JOKE JOKE. I don't know how this place survives. Very Expensive, horrible assortment of cookies, "pasteries". Much better at Dunkin Donuts. I don't understand why they think they can charge so much for items you can get else where for less than 1/2 the price. WHAT A JOKE. First and last time going into this Joke of a place. Too bad, with such a good location, and reasonable prices this place could be a hit, but instead it's a JOKE JOKE JOKE.

NO STARS! This place was horrible! Overpriced and lousy. $5.00 For an iced mocha? STARBUCKS DOESN'T EVEN CHARGE THAT and they are much better! Would not go there again on a bet! LOUSY!!!!

I agree with a previous reader, This place is a JOKE. Went in there with my wife to get an ice cream, only one person working, goes to show how busy they are. Anyway the icecream was two small scoops for 5 bucks. After he told us the price I opted to get only one and my wife and I shared it. Why does a place like this think they can charge so much for a tiny cup of Ice Cream. Well I guess that is why they only need one person working there, only fools would return here. Also their pasteries are foolish, you can go to Shaws put some sugar cookies on a glass dish and you have what this place has, except for an eighth of the price. I agree the place does look nice, like something you would see in Italy, but I that would not make me return. If I want to see italy I would watch the travel channel. I think I will stick with Cafe Sicilia, they have so much more and are not anywhere near as expensive.

Caffe Dolce is a wonder. Real Italian coffee, just as in Italy, a delectable assortment of pasteries, and the only opportunity in Gloucester to enjoy an aperitif (or other liquor)as part of the Italian coffee house experience. The proprietress Pina Moceri effuses warmth and hospitality. Kudos and my highest recommendation.

the best in Gloucester. Those who have visited Rome and have lived in its coffee shops will recognize what makes this spot a treat. Ps Feel like a 11pm sweet and espresso? -- they're open v. late in the summer!
