Reviews!

Barely average, what a let down after eating on Rocky Neck which was the catalyst for Scroo Cookin'.I miss The Rudder.

Lucy, (review below) your reference to the soup tasting like toilet water implies that you have actually tasted toilet water in the past. Are you a toilet water aficionado or something?

Anyhow, Scroo Cooking has great sandwiches and THE BEST clam chowder on Cape Ann.

I have to say I got a soup from there once and it tasted like warm toliet water.

Excellent lobster salad and decadent cookies!!! Wraps are great, very generous and come with hearty sides. Friendly service and terrific food. I'm glad it's right in my neighborhood!

Curried chicken wraps are the best.

Hands down! The folks at Scroo Cookin use better-than-the-usual ingredients to whip up the most imaginative and best tasting take-out lunch offerings in Gloucester. If you're bored with mediocre Italian sub sandwiches and greasy fried clams, you owe it to yourself to give Scroo a taste test.

NO STARS! Went there once to pick up lunch to take back to work. The meat in the shepherd's pie was GREY.... it looked like they boiled the heck out of whatever the unidentifiable meat was... gross! Needless to say, that was my first and last trip there.

The food and the service at Scroo Cookin are beyond excellent. Everything from soups, wraps with scrootons of course, and those awesome cookies keep us going back on a regular basis and we don't even live in Gloucester!!!

In case anyone hasn't noticed, food is expensive. And when you don't buy it in 5 gallon monarch tubs, it costs even more. This is fresh, gourmet takeout. And it's prepared by a chef, not a cook. In other words, Scroo Cookin' is an exceptional value. I have to stop talking. Hungry.

Just OK....Way too expensive

I always stop on my way to or from work, to pick up lunch or dinner- The prepared meals have all been delicious! They are always changing. I have never been dissapointed here-- the food is eclectic and tasty -spiced perfectly- all very inventive and exciting.
The soups are the best I've ever had (African chicken---Morrocan chickpea) just excellent! Any sandwich is terrific.

The prices are a little higher than your normal take-out place- but it is worth the extra dollar to eat good food.

Always a variety of great homemade soups. Blueberry muffins and coffee to die for. To bad only take out. Give it a whirl!!!

Not really impressed. Concept has been around for a long time. Prices high.

To be honest, I have only tried the soup and french bread pizza. It was good, nothing spectacular. I think the whole concept of the place is wonderful. I would be willing to go back and try other things.
