G Stacka(crap) - world class twat. Gloucester's not full of junkies...and a decent restaurant cleans under the tables. The food is still pretty decent, though...as I said. The Causeway/Essex place is VERY ordinary. (and I'm not from NY...I've just heard it a lot). Posted by: Gang of One at August 1, 2008 06:41 PMi also don't think its fair to put this place on blast on a website like this for something they have no control over. its not their fault that there are a bunch of junkies in gloucester. some loser drops something under a table...not the fault of the restaurant. no need to embarrass the nice people that run this place. the "cloyingly friendly" people who were so nice to your kid. gang of 1 = world class jerk. Posted by: g stacka at June 29, 2008 12:32 AM best chinese on cape ann. lol at the new york snobbery below. "if you've been to new york blah blah blah". if you've been to boston you know that there is much better food out there, but this food stands up to most similarly priced chinese places you will go to. much better than some of the other chinese places in gloucester, some of which are downright scary. this place and hong kong kitchen are the two best out here. that place on the causeway in essex is pretty good too. Posted by: g stacka at June 29, 2008 12:27 AM Then, when she went under the table to retrieve her fallen Fortune Cookie and came up with a used syringe - I can't go back. So as long as you stay above table-height and wear stout shoes, you should be fine...but not for me ever again. Posted by: Gang of One at March 19, 2008 11:27 AMCheck out Horizon's website @ What a pleasant surprise! Everything we ordered was delicious, the sauces light and flavorful, complementing the other ingredients. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right. First time we've enjoyed zuchini in a Chinese dish; a perfect use for a summer favorite. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff delightful. The food at Horizon is consistently good - they use high quality ingredients, and almost everything I have had there has been very good. They now serve wine and (I think) beer too. The service is friendly. Definitely way way better than Fortune Palace II, and I think better than Su Chang in Danvers. Posted by: food lover at February 2, 2007 06:07 PM Look there is no great chinese food on cape ann, or for that matter even close to cape ann, but this one is the best, we eat there ocassionaly when we can not get it in cambridge, and the food and survice are always the same, no surprises just decent food at a decent price. Posted by: mike at July 12, 2006 03:25 PM I used to love this place, it was BY FAR the best in town. I've noticed lately (over the past year) that things have gone downhill. The fried rice used to be laden with goodies (peas, sprouts, lots of pork, egg, etc) and very flavorful. It seems to be very bland and lacking in quantity of the other goodies. I miss the old style, and since it's been a year now... I don't think it's coming back. Very disappointed. Posted by: AnnMarie at September 14, 2005 01:09 PM The best Chinese restaurant in Gloucester by far. Their food is fresh, the service is friendly, and they deliver - very quickly, I might add. Try the spicy steamed wontons! Posted by: TG at March 11, 2005 12:58 PM This is the best Chinese restaurant that I know of in Gloucester. They do not have a bar, which might be why it is good. I only eat lunch specials there and have not been there for supper. The food is not greasy as it might be at some others and the prices are very reasonable. Post a review! (Read Posting Guidelines.)
