Reviews!

Amelia used to be Ok. This was some odd 5-7 years ago. Now when I pass by on my way to Rockport with the wife we always mention how bad it has become. Watery chowder, sloppily cut salad, long waits for food , overly greasy fried clams. If I were trying to go out of business Amelia's would be the model I would try to follow. Save yourself the bother and drive to the Causeway, or get a darn good sandwich at Virgilios on Main St.

I've been to this place a few times and absolutely concur with the statements below about the absurdly slow service, cafeteria-grade food and the scalding hot chowder. I've never encountered a smile at this place. Maybe it's the cold, sad interior that makes everyone in this place seem miserable.

Tonight was our last try. My husband and I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and salad. The breading was saturated in oil and not at all crisp. Additionally, they placed the chicken on top of the mashed potatoes and smothered the entire dish in gravy, so what may have been somewhat crisp was turned soggy on all sides. The potatoes clearly came from a mix and the salad consisted of white iceberg lettuce and grainy tomato.

We won't be going there again.

Had take out there tonight. I got the cheeseburger club special. The fries were good but the burger was about the size of an air hockey disc. Way over cooked and tiny. I hardly ever go there for that reason. Wife got a cheesesteak and enjoyed it. They need to step it up. Not to mention the poor girl at the register was sick and kept wiping her nose.

The service in unbelievably slow. Even when your the only customer. More than half of the girls don't even know English. Can't anyone learn English when they want to work in this country from Gods sake? We're not in Brazil. The food is mostly fried. And the choweders are served way too hot. You have to literally put them in the fridge before they're fit to eat. Gah.

This is my favorite place to eat on my vacation each summer...in fact I usually go more than once! Huge amounts of food! I love the Haddock Platter. And the outdoor seating is always nice on a summer evening.

The food is great and the steak tips melt in your mouth!!!. This is a well run clean, family restaurant, and we would advise every one to try it.

Thanks Ernie!

A great place for down home beach food and then some. Good consistant quality seafood. Best Rheuben's in town. Even hot dogs, spaghetti and club sandwiches if you so desire. Not to mention good clam chowder. Overall a nice family stop.

Gross. Dirty and gross cafeteria food.

I love their food! The owners are the BEST people I know. They make their own special tarder sauce and their own coleslaw! Yummy! They won't give me their secret ingrediaents though! lol

I think they're seafood plates are very competitive as far as taste, size and cost. I eat at Amelia's every chance I get. They're awesome!! I recommend them to other people too!

big mistake, moving from the old location to such a large place, cold, service is not good, and the food is nothing like the old place.

I thought the food was very good and plentiful. The service was quick and very friendly. I wanted to eat outside..it is March...and the girl was very gracious about bringing the food outside for me. I loved the chowder, not the thick heavy typical chowder but a nice creamy broth with lots of clams and potatoes and bacon. I will be back
