This is the best restaurant on Cape Anne. Why? Because it's closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awful service, bad food, weird music and the pug ugly crowd did them in - CLOSED GOOD BYE! Posted by: Chubchaser at April 15, 2007 09:08 PM We discovered this jewel of a restaurant by chance. While visiting town over the Labor Day weekend we were directed to one of the local landmarks, but decided not to wait in line, so we strolled across the street to Riverside. Even though it was raining, we decided to sit out on the covered deck. What an absolutely wonderful spot! A beautiful view of the marsh and river. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff. Our waitress was polite and professional and quickly took our drink orders and told us of the specials. We were surprised when she returned so quickly with our drinks and wonderful warm bread right out of the oven. Now for the best part! The food! I had the sesame encrusted chicken which was done just right with a great sauce, and my friend had the Lobster 3 Way which had a great presentation and was prepared to perfection! We will definitely be back and thanks for such a enjoyable afternoon. Posted by: Robert at September 5, 2006 02:45 PM Food, ambiance and good service. We went on a Friday night and had a delightful experience outside. The waitress was very attentive and the pan roasted Halibut was excellent. My husband enjoyed the 16 oz steak which was cooked fine. I loved the wine selections but was steered toward the peach martini by the server. Dessert in a glass!!! Posted by: Barbara at September 3, 2006 04:47 PM Terrible service. Ate there on a Sunday night, around 7pm. Got a spot on the deck. Our waitress took our drinks order and then disappeared for 15 minutes. Then, she took our dinner order and disappeared for 30 minutes. No check on drink refills, no bread on table. Once our appetizers arrived (we ordered clam chowder), the waitress walked away without giving us silverware to eat it with. We had to go to a waitress station on the patio to grab some spoons. Dinner arrived - wife ordered steak tips medium well. They came to our table 30 minutes later, rarer than rare. They were bloody and cold inside. I ordered shrimp skewers with coconut rice. My food was decent, but portions were very small and prices were very high. $5 for a wedge salad (i.e. quarter of a head of iceberg lettuce plus crumbled bacon & dressing) Would not go back again.
