To Jim from 1/22/08--The lobster trap was a pub that closed several years ago. it is part of the property owned by the woodman family that owns the famous woodmans restaurant. the building in which the lobster trap was holds the function hall. when the lobster trap was open it was the best night place to go on cape ann-a shame it closed. Posted by: nadine at January 17, 2010 09:24 PMI must conclude that the prior review was written by someone who managed to go to the wrong address. Woodmans is an institution of wonderful seafood. Lobster was hardshell (more meat filling the beast) while, at a different and popular restaurant we stopped at, the lobster was barely legal and softshell (more shell, less meat). At both restaurants, lobster was $12 per pound. The full-bellied fried clams were of excellent size and tenderness. Wonderful onion rings. It is a large, rustic informal atmosphere where you wait on yourself. I am not related to this establishment in any way other than as a satisfied customer. Posted by: Jack at October 11, 2008 08:26 PMThis place stinks. It's not even there. I went there on a date and I took my date to a place that was closed. Thanks a lot Lobster Trap! Post a review!
