Reviews!

This is a value added place to eat.

The drinks are expensive. As noted that old people go there should be a clue. They don't have a lot of money and know value.

Nothing can beat this place within 10 miles.

if you like old people and gross food, go there

I don't know. I'm 50 and compared to everyone else in the place, I felt like I was in preschool. Good place to go if you want to meet a really ancient babe who is totally loaded with cash and might kick the bucket. Actually, it's like a buffet of oldness. Have the oysters. They're like the clientele. Wrinkled and a hair smelly.

This little restaurant is fantastic. I have been going there for 20 years now, almost one a month. Yes, you may have a "not so pleasant" experience now and than, or the food may not be perfect, but no one can be 100% all the time. On the average, this is a fantastic place, the food is great, consistently (but remember one one is perfect all the time).

Over my 20 years, may 3 meals total were not optimal. I would recommend this to anyone and when I have visitors from out of town or out of the country, I make it a point to visit here with them and have never had a bad note about it.

All in all, great place, great food, nice people, love it!!!!

I decided to give it a shot, even after checking out the reviews here, and had been many years ago.

Restaurant was very empty (cold and icy night). Got menus quickly, and crackers, but waited a long time to order.

We both got prime rib, since that was the reason we wanted to go out for dinner. Both were HUGE one was regular, one was large) very, very thick pieces of meat (obscene on the larger one - over 3 inches thick) but lacked flavor, warmth (they were cool to the touch) and fairly undercooked for a medium order (very cool pink all over, red and fleshy at edges, not hot pink).

The green beans and whipped potatoes were cold and tasteless. The portion of the potatoes compared to the size of the meat was almost laughable (maybe 3-4 tablespoons?). The corn bread was stale, but tasty... would have enjoyed that fresh and soft.

The ceasar salad was pretty good, but that's not enough to save the meal.

The server was very nice, but by the time she checked to see if everything was ok we'd already passed the point where sending the meat back would have made sense.

All in all, a very mediocre experience and we agreed that would be the last trip. The hunt for a quality prime rib on Cape Ann continues.

We drive by this place alot and have always noticed a fairly full parking lot, so we decided to check it out. The Prime Rib was out of this world, but the other three entrees served to our table were tasteless (all sautee). The owner (so I was told) was extremly RUDE and clearly not a nice person. We heard him belitte the nice elderly hostess, call a waitress stupid (in earshot of our table) and as soon as we were finished he was staring us down, apparently wanting us to leave. Not sure why as by this time the place had open tables everywhere. For just this reason we will never go back as we felt unwelcome and even worse, felt sorry for the waitstaff. Its to bad too, because the waitress we had was extremly professional, polite and friendly and it was she who made the evening enjoyable.

We must had hit this place on an off night, the parking lot is always full so we decided to stop in, regrettibly. They had one waitress on for about 20 tables. The food was by and large the worst restaurant food I have ever had, I am assuming by the amount of cars there that this was an off night as they are always busy. So please I mean no dissrespect there are some very high reviews on this site for this place so I must have hit the worst of the worst. Although I did notice that it was mainly frequented by the elderly and no disrespect again but the food was catered to them, salty with no other flavors.

Lewis' is the perfect place to go when your realy hungry, but your not realy sure what you want.
Because they have such a nice variety, and they do everything so nicely. The fish is always fresher than lemons and the steaks seem to melt in your mouth. I love the beef wellington.
The waitstaff works harder than anywhere around, and the bar always seems to mix a good drink.
GO HERE!

I can't believe I am the first one to post. This is my favorite restaurant. Everything on the menu is great. I have been going there for almost 8 years and go 1-2 times a week. I have never had a bad or even close to bad meal. The Prime Rib is the best in the area, only served Fri and Sat though. Great seafood, pasta dishes, chicken and always early bird specials (pot roast, meatloaf, stuffed potatoes, chicken pot pie..and more) and the little extras are great (homemade bread, cornbread or apple bread, basket of crackers with cheese and/or cottage cheese dip and the meals include a soup or salad). The homemade soups are delicious - Soup of day is sometimes Corn Chowder,
Beef Barley, Chicken Vegetable, Split Pea or Lentil. Onion Soup and Clam Chowder are always on the menu. Desserts are all great. The prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent.
Get out and go there for a great meal!!!!
