Reviews!

Me and my girlfriend had dinner at the vintage last Saturday night. I got the Chicken Picatta it had to of been the best pasta dish I have ever had and I eat alot of Pasta. My girlfriend got the eggplant parm and loved it..they even gave us a free apetizer. We finished off with a brownie sundae that could not of been better. I dont think that the vintage gets the credit they deserve. We will def. be going back this summer.

Tried out the Vintage Restaurant for the first time last night. We were surprised there weren't many patrons on a Saturday night at dinnertime (it did pick up though). We got dinner and drinks with a free appetizer (with entree). The potato skins were excellent. The chicken parm sandwich was good as well as the onion rings.(I never got my coleslaw though). The tomato sauce was pretty good, but I like it with chunks of tomatoes, not so sweet - more italian, so I would recommend that change. My boyfriend got steak tips with mashed potatoes and he said it was very good and a good size portion. We thought the prices were pretty reasonable and loved getting a free appetizer. We ate at the bar but noticed signs for entertainment on Thurs, Fri & Saturday in the other room. Apparently this is a new thing for the Vintage Rest, but we plan to go back and check it out.
The restaurant was definately understaffed. The bartender was rushing and rushing trying to bartend, hostess, and waitress in the diningroom. She was very very nice though. We'll go back.

Great Place, friendly waitstaff, tasty food, and resonable prices. Love the Salad Bar.

I don't know what it is about this place but I just love it, Sometimes me and my buddies come here for drinks and bar food, and other times a group of us go here for dinner. The cook is awesome, he comes out and talks to us, and once I asked for something that was not on menu and he told me as long as he have all the things he needs he can do it. Great Job. Try the Risotto Mare e Monti.

Great Place, and good quality food. It's hard to catch them on a night they have prime rib, but when they do, its the best you can find in this area, oh well if they don't have it they make excellent fried clams. Too bad this place isnt on the strip with the rest of the resturants, you just have to go down the road a bit further, no biggie. You should ask what kind of shellfish they have to serve as an apitizer, we usaully get the muscles or the little clams. Always look forward to going here.

The best fried clams around. Huge portions.

We finally got around to having breakfast here, we usually come for dinner as everything is always perfect and the same went for breakfast. Friendly enviorment, clean, open, bright, and that's only inside. They have a dining area outside that is nicely set up but we have not eaten out there yet. Fresh berries in my pancakes made me feel like I was eating them at a tropical getaway. Usually those other places have the frozen stuff, but not here. Next I'll have to try lunch, if it's like the rest i'm sure it wont be a dissapointment.

My wife ordered one of the nightly specials, "Haddock Supreme", which was supposed to be haddock stuffed with crab meat, with a cheese sauce.

When my wife's haddock came out, she took a few bites, and realized it tasted like ammonia. I could smell the ammonia aroma three feet away, and refused even to try it. I convinced her to send it back.

The waitress came over, and my wife told her the problem. The waitress was very nice about it, and asked my wife if she wanted to order something else. My wife asked for a menu, and began to read it, while the waitress took the bad fish back to the kitchen.

A minute later a sixtyish man, who told us he was the chef, came storming out of the kitchen, with a plate of raw haddock in hand. He began yelling at my wife that she couldn't possibly have tasted ammonia in her fish, because he used only fresh fish. All the time he was yelling at her, he was waving this plate of raw fish under her nose. I can only assume the chef has lost his sense of smell.

Needless to say, my wife was no longer interested in ordering anything else off the menu. We quickly got our check and left. At least they didn't try to charge us for the bad fish.

My wife and I have only been here twice, but now that we know about it we will definatly be back.
I had the Chicken all Francesca and my wife had the Mare Monte - I think thats what it was called. The previous time we both went with the prime rib. Very tender and generous cut. The make your own salad station is pretty cool. "Salad Bar"
I hear they do breakfast on the weekends, I think we will give it a shot.

Since I discovered this restaurant we hardly go anywhere else. Delicious food, reasonable prices, generous portions. The freshest seafood around. Very tender steaks. Great breakfast place on the weekends.

The food was great. I've tried just about everything and have yet to be disapointed. The service is very good. The tomato sauce is sooo good. The meatballs are very tasty. The sauce and meatballs are just the way they are suppose to be. I definetly give this restaurant five stars.

Expected sauce and meatballs to be real Italien. VERY DISSAPPOINTED ! No taste. Wouldn't go back.

I would have to say that this is one of the nicest places to eat on Cape Ann. The food is excellent, the service is great, drinks are what they should be and the salad bar has the freshest selections of salad toppings. It's a great night out for dinner with friends or a night out with a date or family. I go back again and again, everything is always perfect.

Great Steak Tips!! The menu is everything for everyone. Essex fried food, or Rack of Lamb. Everything we have had has been great. The service is not great, but the food more than makes up for it. Highly recomended!

The food was very good. Steak tips were tender and came with free salad. The shrimp sacampi was also excelent.
BUT, the service was SOOO BAD its hard to want to go back, the server didn't seem to know anything about the food. When we asked her for our drinks, she asked us how to make them!!
