Thankful Blessings
by Peter Todd

10/24/2004

The last of the leaves to fall on the ground
With shoppers making ready for long winter nights
The children playing and singing of their songs
Under the sunlit sky and soft moonlight
Preparing and cooking of each Thanksgiving meal
Cleaning and dusting with hurried pace
The Hugs and embraces of loved ones to feel
Sitting down together with the prayer of grace
Giving thanks to our soldiers who chose harms way
To fight for the freedom of others far and abroad
On this Special gathering, this Thanksgiving Day
We give praise to our forgiving God
For with a time of doubt there is a reason
On which only the believer can share
In our Faith we have been given another season
Of the happiness with those who we love and care
