Hundreds of people gathered at Stage Fort Park on Saturday, July 31, to enjoy the annual Cape Ann Symphony Pops Concert and fireworks. Summer has finally arrived and with a full moon and balmy weather, the setting was perfect.

A great addition to this year's concert was a performance by the Gloucester High School Docksiders Jazz Band. The Docksiders have participated in Disney's Magic Music Days in Orlando and are earning a reputation outside the Cape Ann area as an outstanding high school band.

The pops concert concluded with the Cape Ann Symphony's rendition of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" accompanied by the fireworks display with the full moon as a backdrop.

Bravo to the symphony, the Docksiders, and to all who make this event possible.
