Author's Note
Dogtown Drifter
This novel takes place in Massachusetts - in the towns of Gloucester and Rockport on Cape Ann. All of the geographical locations exist, as do most of the Cape Ann businesses mentioned. They are used, however, fictitiously and are accorded the respect they deserve. All of the characters are equally fictitious, and any resemblance to persons living or dead is entirely coincidental. Although one of them may not know this.
The observant Gloucester native will notice that I have taken some liberties with Goose Cove by making it more quarry-like in its appearance and eliminating the neighborhoods along Dennison and Holly Streets. This was done to better fit the story line. It was nothing personal.
And for you Dogtown hikers who appreciate Roger Babson's inspirational boulders and are aware of their scattered layout up there in the blueberry bushes - yes, I moved one of them closer to Integrity for artistic reasons. I can assure you that I put it back when I was through.
