Kindergarten Cooks
From peanut butter
to pizza, the recipes that follow will not only tempt your taste buds, but
are guaranteed to provide a hearty serving of smiles for all.
Kindergarten students of West Parish School dictated their recipes to adult
helpers so they could publish them in a cookbook. The names of the "chefs"
have been changed to initials to protect the chefs' reputations. Most of
these cooks are now high school students.
- Apple Pie from the kitchen of A.C.
Buy the crust at the store.
Put 6 apples and mush them in the pie.
Bake for 1/2 hour.
- Applesauce from the kitchen of S.P.
5 apples
Just squeeze them. You might get some juice, too.
- Bagels and Toast from the kitchen of S.B.
Put the bagels in the
toaster and when they pop up you put cream cheese on them. Put the toast
in the toaster. When it pops up, butter it.
- Banana Split from the kitchen of J.S.
2 bananas
Chocolate Sauce
Strawberries
Whipped Cream
2 spoonfuls (soup spoons) of fudge
We start with ice cream.
We peel the bananas then put them in. After we put the chocolate on, then
the fudge. And last but not least the regular amount of whipped cream.
Top with 5 cherries then stick one strawberry on each side.
- Blue Fish from the kitchen of R.C.
10 pieces of blue fish
1 gram of sugar
a little olive oil
Put it in the oven for one half hour at 6o .
Take it out, add a teeny bit more olive oil and that’s it.
- Blueberry Muffins from the kitchen of E.C.
Take out a bowl. Put
in 3 cups of flour, 7 blueberries, a little bit of milk, 3 cups of sugar,
2 scoops of cinnamon in a big cup, and a lot of nuts. Mix it around for
a few hours. Put it in a pan with little scoops. Cook in oven for a long
time. It will probably be done in a long few hours.
- Bologna Sandwich from the kitchen of T.C.
Bread

Miracle Whip
Bologna
Mustard
Spread mustard on one
slice. Then Miracle Whip on the other slice. Put cheese and bologna between
bread. Fold together. Cut in half.
- Breaded Chicken from the kitchen of C.F.
1 pound of chicken
2 loafs of bread
Put the bread in the
pan, then take the chicken and mix it in with the bread.
Then put the breaded
chicken on the barbecue for a half an hour. You can also add salad dressing
to your chicken.
- Brownies from the kitchen of K.M.
Put 3 cups of flour
in a bowl. Put in 4 cups of chocolate chip chocolate. Put in 2 cups of milk. Mix it with butter with a mixer. Pour it in a square pan. Put in
oven for 25 minutes. Cut it in half.
- Cake from the kitchen of C.F.
In a bowl, put 2 cups
flour (use cups with a handle), 1 spoonful milk, 3 eggs and a medium amount
of dough. Mix with a spoon for 2 minutes. Pour it into a circle pan. Cook
it for one hour.
Put on chocolate frosting and candy.
- Cheerios Treats from the kitchen of B.W.
Marshmallows
Oil
Cheerios
2 Cups of Water
Mix all the ingredients together and put it in the oven. Cook for two minutes
Let it dry and cut it up so you can share it.
- Chicken with Hot Sauce from the kitchen of P.M.
10 pieces of cut up chicken
1 jar of hot sauce
1 cup of water
Put the chicken in
a pan and put the hot sauce on it. Cook it on the stove for 3 minutes.
Drink
the water to cool your mouth off.
- Chicken Soup from the kitchen of M.B.
1 can chicken soup
1 pan
a can opener
1 bowl
1 spoon
Open can. Dump into pan. Cook until warm. Dump into bowl. Then eat with a spoon.
- Chicken Soup from the kitchen of E.M.
Put chicken in a kind
of bowl - pan. Add 1000 carrots, 8 pieces of broccoli, 2 gallons of water
and 3 gallons of oil, 3 noodles and 8 gallons of rice. Cook on top of the
stove for 3 seconds. Serve with a little more oil and salt.
- Chocolate Cake from the kitchen of K.B.
8 cups of frosting
cake mix
2 eggs
1 stick of butte
rsprinkles
Stir together the cake
mix, the eggs and the butter and put in a pan and cook it in the oven for
7 minutes. Let it cool down then put the frosting and sprinkles on it
If it’s a birthday you can put candles on it.
- Chocolate Cake from the kitchen of B.H.
1 box cake mix
3 eggs
water
frosting
Turn oven on 350o .
In bowl mix cake, eggs, and water. Pour into cake pan. Bake 30 minutes.
Let cool. Frost cake. Then eat.
- Chocolate Cake from the kitchen of A.H.
2 dips of sugar
1 scoop of butter
5 scoops of chocolate
10 scoops of shortening
4 eggs
5 cups of milk
Mix together. Put it in the oven for 5 seconds in a middle hot oven. Take it out, let it rise, then frost.
- Chocolate Cake from the kitchen of D.H.
Get chocolate, about
2 eggs and a couple of ounces of flour. Mix in a bowl for about 2 hours.
Heat
in the oven for about 2 minutes.
Put on pink frosting.
Take a knife and cut
it and serve it.
- Chocolate Chip Cookies from the kitchen of B.H.
Put 4 or 5 eggs, 1
spoonful milk, 4 spoonsful flour, 1/2 bag of chocolate chips and 1 spoonful
vanilla in a big bowl. Mix with a blender for a little bit of a long time.
Use spoons to dump it out on a big pan. Put in oven. Cook for about 2
hours.
- Chocolate Chip Cookies from the kitchen of K.M.
20 chocolate chips
1 cup of water
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of milk
2 cups of flour
Put everything in a big bowl and mix it up. Then bake them for 8 minutes.
- Chocolate Chip Cookies from the kitchen of S.R.
Make the dough - 3
scoops of flour. Add 3 eggs, 3 scoops of sugar.
Put 5 chips on each cookie.
Cook
for one hour and a half at 5o .
Everybody gets some!
- Chocolate Ice Cream from the kitchen of N.B.
You have this chocolate
shake and then you harden it up in the freezer for 1 hour or so.
And then
when you take it out, you eat it!
- Chocolate Soufflé from the kitchen of K.B.
Get chocolate mix,
a cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of white sugar and whipped cream, and a little
marshmallow and a few strawberries.
Put in a bowl and mix around with your
hands.
Put a cover on the bowl and cook in the oven for 10 minutes.

Bread
Toaster
Cinnamon and sugar mixed
Butter
Toast bread. Spread with butter. Shake cinnamon and sugar mix over melted butter. Serve on plate.
- Cupcakes from the kitchen of D.H.
Put bread, 2 scoops
of milk and 2 eggs into the bowl. Mix for 2 hours. Pour into any pan.
Cook on top of stove for 10 hours.
Cool off cupcakes, put on whipped cream
frosting, jimmies and marshmallows.

Frosting
Cake mix
2 eggs
a cup of milk
Put the cake mix into the bowl and add the eggs and milk. Then cook it for 1/2 hour. Then when it is done, add the frosting.
- Eggs for Lunch from the kitchen of L.G.
Turn on stove.
Get a
small pan.
Get butter and eggs.
Put butter in the pan. Watch it melt.
Crack
the eggs into the pan.
Cook them until they are white.
Serve with salt, pepper
and hot sauce.
- Egg McMuffin from the kitchen of B.M.
Put 3 eggs in a pan.
Let it cook for 3 hours. Then you take it out and then put it on an english
muffin with butter on it, too.
Then you eat it.
- Fried Dough from the kitchen of S.A.
a box of dough
a cup of flour
Flatten the dough,
then put the dough into the pan, add oil.
Then fry it for 17 minutes.
After
it is fried have it sit for fifteen minutes.
- Fried Dough from the kitchen of E.T.
Get about 10 pounds
of dough. Take 1/2 of it and stretch it about 10 feet.
Put it in a pan with
grease. Cook until goldish brown on both sides.
Put butter on it. Serve
with powder and cinnamon or anything else.
- Ham and Mashed Potato from the kitchen of A.W.
Take some mashed potatoes.
Then mash them and fry them. And then you take some ham and slice it.
Cook it on the stove for 1/2 hour.
Mix the ham up with the mashed potato and
put a whole cup full of ham sauce on it.
Then eat it!
- A Hamburger from the kitchen of M.T.
You buy pieces of bread.You put a meatish thing on one piece of bread, then put the top on.
Put ketchup in it.
Cook for 3 minutes.
- Hamburgers from the kitchen of K.H.
Make some hamburg into
a round shape.
Put it in a pan on the stove. Cook it for 8 seconds. Put
on a slice of cheese or you can make it plain. Put it on a bun with ketchup
and mustard.
- Hamburgers on the Grill from the kitchen of D.M.
Use meat from the grocery
store that looks like brains. Make it into circles.
Cook them on the grill
for 5 minutes.
Then put bread on them and cheese.
- Hot Chocolate from the kitchen of E.T.

Boil the water, add the hot chocolate, milk and sugar to the water.
Then drink it.
- Hot Dogs from the kitchen of S.C.
Get a hot dog and a
long bun. Put the hot dog on a pan and put it in the oven. Cook for 12
hours. Keep the bun soft. Put hot dog in the bun with ketchup.
- Macaroni and Cheese from the kitchen of D.C.
Put 1/2 of the macaroni
in a pot with 1/2 of water. Cook on top of the stove for one hour.
Put 1/2
of regular cheese on it.
Take it out of the pan and eat it!
- Macaroni and Cheese from the kitchen of R.C.
First you put a lot
of macaroni in water.
Then you stir it a little.
Then you put in 2 bags of
cheese.
And then you wait for a little while and then it’s done.
- Macaroni and Cheese from the kitchen of E.S.
Take half a pan of
water. Wait until it boils. Put in a whole box of macaroni. Put in a little
bit of milk and the whole package of cheese. Stir it up.
Put it on a plate
or bowl. Then you eat it up.
- Macaroni and Meatballs from the kitchen of L.B.
Put 100 macaronis in a pan with sauce. Cook on top of the stove for 15 minutes.
To make meatballs:
Take 70 lbs. of meatball meat. Make it into round shapes. Cook on top
of stove for 15 minutes.
Mix macaroni and meatballs together.
Add extra sauce
and shake on American cheese.
- Mint Brownies from the kitchen of A.S.
First you get dough.
And then you put some sugar in.
And then you put 1 cup of milk in.
Heat
it up.
Put 2 cups of flour in. Put 3 cups of chocolate in, then add mint.
Then
you bake at 100o until right after supper.
- Meatball Sub from the kitchen of S.W.
Take bread that looks like the hot dog kind. Put 4 meatballs on it. Put 40 scoops of sauce on it.
Put on 4 whole green peppers.
- Oatmeal from the kitchen of T.S.
Get a package of oatmeal
from the box. Put it in a pan with butter. Cook on stove for 10 minutes.Then
put in a bowl with honey, milk and tea. You can drink it.
- Oatmeal Bread from the kitchen of D.R.
In a small bowl, put
about 2 inches of salt and bread powder to about 7 inches. Measure oil in
a little spoon almost to the top and put it in. Mix with a spoon for about
30 minutes.
Put into a pan where you bake bread. Cook in the oven for 20
minutes. When it is done it is bread with oatmeal on it.
- Pancakes from the kitchen of J.M.
Pancake mix
1 frying pan
1 measuring cup
1 bowl
1 cup water
maple syrup
Measure mix. Place
in bowl. Pour water in mix. Stir mix. Cook in pan until it’s tan in color.
Flip over and cook other side. Place in dish and add maple syrup.
- Pancakes from the kitchen of E.S.
Get a bowl. Put in
1 cup flour, 3 eggs, and 1 cup milk.
Put oil in a pan. Pour mix into pan
in circles.Cook 45 minutes. Flip it over. Cook for 45 minutes until golden
brown.
Serve with maple syrup.
- Pancakes from the kitchen of J.S.

1/2 cup of milk
3 eggs
Get the bowl, empty
the cake mix into the bowl. Add the eggs and milk to the cake mix. Then
stir. Pour into a pan and cook it until it is brown.
- Pizza from the kitchen of K.F.
Get some fried dough.
Spread it on a big round pan.
Put on 1 spoon of cheese. Put on 1 spoonful
of potato sauce. Put on a lot of mushrooms.
Cook in the oven for 1 hour.
- Pizza from the kitchen of E.G.

Take the dough, pat
the dough and throw it into the air. Then add the sauce and cheese. Then
put pepperoni and mushrooms on top of the pizza. Then cook it for twenty
hours. Then take it out and eat it.

Get a flat pan.
Roll
out pizza dough and turn it around.
Put the dough on the pan.
Put red sauce
on the dough.
Put white cheese on it.
Cook in the oven for 2 minutes.
- Pizza from the kitchen of B.P.
Big Piece of dough
Some flour
Sauce
2 cups of cheese
1 pound of pepperoni
Put the dough on a
pan and flatten out. Spread sauce on it. Sprinkle the cheese over it.
Add the pepperoni and put it in the oven and cook it for 10 minutes. Then
cut it up and eat it.
- Pizza from the kitchen of L.T.
First I would put as
much tomato sauce on as a regular pizza. Put 2 slices of pepper on. Then
I would put a gallon of cheese on. I would cook it for 5 minutes at 6o .
I would take it out and eat it!
- Pizza from the kitchen of R.W.
10 pieces of bread
2 cans of sauce
cheese
pepperoni
onions
sausage
mushrooms
Add the sauce to the
bread. Then add the cheese. Then add the pepperoni, onions, sausage, and
mushrooms.
Then cook for a half an hour. Then take it out and eat it.
- Popcorn from the kitchen of W.V.
Use a pot with a hat. Put in a couple inches of popcorn. Cook it until the hat pops up.
Serve with a few salts.
- Pumpkin Pie from the kitchen of P.V.
Well, you get the crust
- buy it frozen.
Buy the pumpkin mushed up in the grocery store. Put it in
the crust.
Then cook it I think for about 1/2 hour.

Marshmallows
Rice Krispies
Butter
Butter goes in pan
and you melt it. Put the marshmallows in next and melt them. Add the Rice
Krispies and mix up. Put them on a plate and eat them.

Take the butter, then
the marshmallows, then the rice krispies and mix them all together. Then
cook it for an hour. Then eat it.
- Rice Krispies Treats from the kitchen of E.S.

Rice Krispies
Melt the butter. Then add the marshmallows and melt them. Next add the Rice Krispies and mix together with a spatula.
- Rice Krispies Treats from the kitchen of C.D.
6 cups of rice krispies

Mix the rice krispies and the marshmallow together. Then cook it for 15 seconds.
- Rice Krispies Treats from the kitchen of Z.R.
Get a lot of Rice Krispies
and 3 marshmallows.
Read the instructions on the Rice Krispies box.
I think
you bake them for 10 minutes.
- Rolled Chocolate Chip Cookies from the kitchen of A.R.
1 premixed chocolate chip roll
1 spoon
1 cookie sheet
Turn oven on to 350o . Open wrapper and spoon out dough onto sheet. Bake about 10 minutes. Let cool. Then eat.
- Sliced Apples from the kitchen of C.C.
First you take an apple and take the skin off.
Then you slice it into 6 slices.
Eat it!
- Spaghetti from the kitchen of M.O.
Take spaghetti.
Put in big bowl with water and cheese sauce.
Serve with cheese.
- Spaghetti from the kitchen of J.S.
1/2 box of spaghetti
grated cheese
1 can of sauce
Put the spaghetti in the microwave and cook it for 9 minutes.
Next you put the sauce and cheese on it and get a spoon and eat it.
- Spinach Dish from the kitchen of M.M.
Mix the spinach, eggs,
cheese, and dill in a bowl.
Flatten out the phyllo bread.
Put the spinach mix
in a dish, freeze and cut into squares. Then when they are squishy and cold
you roll it up.
Small pieces for kids. (Mike usually eats a big one.)
- Steak from the kitchen of J.H.
Take 7 pieces of steak.
Fry it in a pan for a minute or so. Sprinkle on a few cups of sauce. Add
2 tads of salt and pepper.
Cook until it looks fat.
- Steak from the kitchen of S.M.
Buy at least 1 lb. of steak.
Fry it rare however long you want it.
One potato goes well with it.
- Strawberry Cake from the kitchen of A.T.
4 strawberries
5 gallons water
1 gallon sugar
Mix together. Put it in the oven at 9o. Bake it for 9 seconds.
- Vanilla Cake from the kitchen of D.S.
2 eggs
1 cup of milk
frosting
Vanilla Cake Mix
Take the milk and cake
mix, add into the bowl. Then add the eggs. Mix together. Then bake it
for 8 minutes. Then put the frosting on the cake. Then you’re done.
- Vegetable Beef Soup from the kitchen of K.C.
Put plain beans, plain
corn, 3 peas and vegetable meat in a microwave dish.
Cook in the microwave
for 1 minute.
Put in a bowl and eat it!
- Yummy Corn Stuff from the kitchen of E.S.
Put a whole bag of
corn in a big bowl.
Heat it up for 6 minutes in the microwave.
Add butter and
salt.
Let’s eat it, Mom, and let’s say it’s yummy!
