Recipe Card for Apple Crisp ~ Cakes, cookies, pies, candies, desserts

Here's my "healthy" apple crisp recipe. Each ingredient is to your own taste, so I can't give you measurements. But if you basically know how to cook, you're fine.

apples, cored and sliced, but not peeled (enough to fill the baking dish you're going to use) I use a mixture of Cortland and Granny Smith.

Dried cranberries, blueberries, raisins or whatever fruit floats your boat. Mix evenly in with apples in dish.

Make a mixture using Splenda, then 1/2 the amount (you used of Splenda) of Equal "sugar lite," cinnamon, a dash of nutmeg, a dash of salt, and a couple tablespoons of Wondra flour. Mix evenly in with apples and dried fruit.

Topping:

old-fashioned oats
chopped pecans
ground flax seed (optional)
Splenda
Sugar Twin brown sugar
cinnamon
salt
more of the dried fruit, if desired

Melt enough Smart Balance margarine to thoroughly coat your oat mixture and make it crumbly, then sprinkle mixture evenly over top of apples, etc. Bake at 350 until tender and bubbly.
