Recipe Card for Butterscotch Cookies ~ Cakes, cookies, pies, candies, desserts

(These are not real exotic, but a great easy basic childhood favorite---and kids love to make them, too.)

1/2 lb. butter, softened
1 lb. light brown sugar
2 eggs
3.5 cups flour
2 teas. baking powder
1/2 teas. salt
1 cup chopped pecans

Cream butter, sugar. Add eggs. Beat well. Add flour, baking powder, salt (sifted together). Add nuts. Roll in wax paper. Leave in refrigerator overnight. Slice thin (about 1/4"). Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 375 oven for 8-10 minutes.
